Empty 2lb Lyle's golden syrup tin with the remains of the tin foil lining inside the lid. Decorated in green, gold and white and inscribed: 'LYLE'S GOLDEN SYRUP'. The famous lion and bees design and below: 'OUT OF THE STRONG CAME FORTH SWEETNESS', 'ABRAM LYLE & SONS SUGAR REFINERS', '2LB NET , PARTIALLY INVERTED REFINERS SYRUP', THIS LABEL IS REGISTERED', 'THIS CAN MUST NOT BE RE-FILLED FOR RE-SALE'. There is a recipe for almond whirls on the back.
