Patch box
Oval patch box commemorating the Spithead mutiny of 1797. The surface is enamelled with a white base, green sides and polychrome lid with a mirror inside. The lid is painted with a scene showing a mounted officer, holding a paper in his right hand, the masts of the fleet in the background; inscribed above: 'The Mutineer's Pardon at Plimouth [sic]'.
