Patch box
Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The surface is enamelled, the base and sides green, the white lid with a tinted transfer depicting naval trophies. There is a husk pattern round the edge and the inscription: 'Like Nelson may each Briton be / A friend to King and Country'.
