Patch box
Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The surface is enamelled, the base and sides pink, the lid painted in colours. It depicts a seaman standing on the shore, two ships in the background. He raises his glass in a toast inscribed above: 'Nelson and the British Crew forever'.
