Patch box
Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The surface is enamelled, the base and gadrooned sides pink. The top is white with a black transfer design of a gun, garlanded with laurel wreaths and a ribbon inscribed: 'NELSON & BRITISH GRATITUDE'. Trumpets and ship's rigging are shown behind.
