Patch box
Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The surface is enamelled with a white base and sides with blue leaf stripe decoration interspersed with red flowers. The lid is decorated with a painted portrait of Nelson within a royal blue, gilt and white zigzag border decorated with spots; inscribed above 'The Immortal NELSON'.
