Patch box
Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The surface is enamelled, the base and sides royal blue. The lid painted in colour with a mourning female figure and a tomb bearing the letter 'N', the edge has a blue border with white dots and the inscription: 'Mourn England mourn grim Death As tore thy Darling Nelson away'.
