Patch box
Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The surface is enamelled, the base and sides yellow, the lid painted with an urn on a plinth within crossed trumpets and laurel branches, inscribed around the edge of the lid 'The God of LOVE Has call'd NELSON above'. The monument plinth has a little face painted on it where one would expect a shield of arms .
