Patch box

Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). It has a hinged lid with a metal rim. The base and sides are white with verticle 'leaf' stripes in blue. There is a red spotted motif between each stripe. The lid is painted with a battle scene. In a white oval, surrounded by a zigzig design with blue spots: 'The Glorious Victory of Adm. Lord Nelson 1st Aug 1798.'
