Patch box
Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The surface is enamelled, the base and gadrooned sides coloured green. The lid is white with a border of green triangles and red dots, the inscription in the centre is a black transfer 'The Victry's won/The Gallant Nelson/cry'd/He liv'd a Hero/and a Hero dy'd.'
