Patch box

Oval emamelled patch box with a mirror inside the lid, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The sides and base are royal blue. The lid is bordered in royal blue with white spots. On a white inner border: 'England mourn and drop a tear The Victorys Great but Bought to dear [sic].' The lid is painted in colour with a figure mourning at a tomb inscribed: 'Sacred to Nelson.'
