Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). Enamelled patch box; base and sides pink, the lid with a tinted transfer depicting Britannia seated by the shore, with a lion at her feet, holding a scroll inscribed: 'Nelson'. There is a ship in the background and an eye with a nimbus in the heavens. Inscribed above: 'Britannia rules the waves.'
