Patch box
Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The surface is enamelled, the base and sides pale blue. The lid has a pale blue border with white spots. It is painted with a bust of Nelson on a plinth within a landscape. On the base of the monument the inscription 'In Memory of Ld. NELSON'. In the foreground is a sailor holding a banner inscribed 'Glorious 21st Oct. 1805'.
