An oval, tortoiseshell box with a decorative hinge. The lid is mounted with a silver bust of Charles I. There is a glazed panel inside the lid, painted with a launching scene. The vessel being launched has a large white flag bearing the initials 'CR' and a crown in red. There is another vessel on the stocks and one riding at anchor. There is a silver ribbon at the top with a indecipherable defaced inscription.
