Box commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). A round tortoiseshell box. An embossed, gilt metal plaque is attached to the lid surrounded by beading. It depicts a bust of Nelson facing left, undraped, with short hair. Initial 'W' on the truncation. Inscribed: 'HOR . VICECOM . NELSON OB PATRIAM PUGNANDO MORT . OCT XXI MDCCCV' (died fighting for his country).
