Launching casket
Launching casket HMS 'Bristol' 1861,containing a chisel and mallet. A wooden box, inside the lid, a glazed picture of HMS 'Bristol'.The box is lined with green velvet. The mallet and chisel have gilt decoration on the handles. Inscription inside the lid: 'HM SS Bristol, 600 H power, 51 guns. Launched Feb 12th 1861 by Miss Yelverton. Principal dimensions - length extreme 285-0, length between perp 25-0, length of keel for tonnage 56-6, breadth moulded 50.5, depth in hold 18-8, burthen in tons No 3027 48/94.
