Silver cigarette case with an inscription on the front: TO COMMANDER / F.W. EGERTON RN / HMS "SALAMIS" / FROM CAPTAINS RN / SIR WILLIAM N.W. HEWITT / JOHN K.E. BAIRD AND RICHARD WELLS / IN REMEMBRANCE OF THEIR PLEASANT / SHOOTING EXCURSION / OCTR 15TH 1877.' There is a lid on the top, with a rough texture on the top to act as a stricker. The lid is hinged and has a hallmark inside. On the back is a hinged compartment with a key hole.
