Snuff box
A round, silver snuff box with a hinged lid, made from a medal. The exterior of the lid shows a seaman and marine clasping hands, a crown above, the whole surrounded by a laurel wreath, inscribed: 'LOYAL AND TRUE T.P.' Inside, a profile portrait of Earl St Vincent facing left within a wreath inscribed: 'EARL ST VINCENT'S TESTIMONY OF APPROBATION 1800'. The box has milled sides and a curved plain base. The medal was specially struck by St Vincent and distributed to those who had followed him to the 'Ville de Paris' from the 'Victory' as a token of appreciation of their having remained loyal during the mutiny.
