Tobacco box lid
Tobacco box lid commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). It is made of embossed brass sheet. In the centre is a profile portrait of Nelson, facing left within a border of beading and Greek key pattern. It is inscribed: 'ADMIRAL LORD NELSON BORN 29 SEPR 1758'. Additional inscription: 'J. GILBERT Born Mar.h 22 1812.'
