Token box
Token box commemorating the Peace of Amiens, 1801. A circular gilt box with a profile bust (possibly Nelson) on the lid. It contains four gilt tokens. 1) Obverse: A foul anchor with a bird perched on the top. Reverse: 'PEACE / RATIFIED / OCTR. 10 / 1801'. 2) and 3) Obverse: A globe and a dove with an olive branch. Reverse: 'PRELIMINARIES / OF PEACE / SIGNED / OCTR / 1801.' 4) Obverse: Three ships in the background, barrels and bales in the foreground. Reverse: A broken sword and ploughshares.
