John Jervis, Earl St Vincent (1735-1823)

Silhouette picture depicting John Jervis, Earl St Vincent (1735-1823) full-length on cream-wove paper facing right. Handwritten on the reverse, and exposed through a hole in the backboard, in the inscription: 'Lord St Vincent N Orm.' Stamped on the back on the cream paper is the inscription: 'From the collection of original portraits owned by Mrs F. Nevill Jackson, Sidcup, Kent, by August Edouart, silhouettist to the French Royal Family 1826-1849.' The silhouette is framed and glazed, with the frame veneered in bird's eye maple with a gold slip.
