Glass and ivory picture

Glass and ivory picture commemorating the battle of the Nile, 1798. A fleet in line of battle painted on ivory, inscribed above 'A VIEW OF THE FLEET AT THE BEGINNING OF THE ACTION ON THE 1ST AUGUST 1798.' On the reverse of the domed glass cover the stern of a ship inscribed 'CULLODEN' wearing the red ensign, and a boat. The glass has a black white and gold border. In a rectangular oak mount. Text of a label on reverse '1st & 2nd August 1798. Battle of the Nile, French fleet defeated by Nelson.'
