Cut-paper picture
Cut paper picture (découpage) commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The picture is made of blue paper with attached pieces of metal foil, white paper and red leather. In the centre of the upper part, a profile of Nelson in a hat with trophies above, flanked with facing pairs of peacocks and altars with pairs of love birds below them. The lower part of the picture shows a naval action and a house with a pigeon loft on the roof to the left. Inscribed along the base: 'All cut with [scissors] no [pen] no [knife]. The whole is in a gilt wooden frame.
