Statuette

Statuette depicting Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). A full-length figure in uniform and hat holding a scroll in his left hand, which is incised with star shapes. The empty sleeve is in a sling. The chest opens up with two panels on hinges to reveal three rather fanciful naval battle scenes. The central one shows the wounded admiral seated on a coil of rope. When the chest is opened, the top of the legs is inscribed: NELSON OF TRAFALGAR.
