Beaker
A horn beaker with hallmarked silver mounts at the rim and base. Inscribed on the rim: 'J.R. LE HUNTE WARD. W.A. HERN. E.A. REDMAN. F.J. BARTER. F. L. ATTENBOROUGH. F.D.W. NAPIER. B.S. HARTLEY. (COX.)'. On a silver shield attached to the side under a crown: 'H.M.S. EMPRESS OF INDIA'. On the base mount: 'CHANNEL SQUADRON REGATTA. 1896. OFFICER'S RACE.' The beaker has a clear, glass bottom.
