Goblet

An oak goblet with silver mounts inscribed around the rim, bottom of the cup and around the base. The silver mounts have incised decoration and the inscription around the metal around the edge of the base, on the underside, reads: 'Heart of Oak always wet or always dry will last forever.' On the mount around the rim, is an inscription that reads: 'Chas. Bowman to Capt. Wm. Piper in memory of the Old Saltom, the New one Launched 16th July 1776.'
