Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805)
Bronze statuette of Nelson (after E.H. Baily's statue of 1843 on Nelson's Column), showing the sitter with hat and sword but not the supporting coil of rope of the original. It is inscribed 'TRFALGAR' 1805 on the base. This item is part of the Sutcliffe-Smith Collection, on loan to the Museum from 1946 and purchased in July 1974.
