Portrait plaque
Portrait plaque depicting Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). Probably a circular box lid. A profile portrait embossed in brass, the subject in uniform facing left with draped shoulders. Legend: 'ADMIRAL LORD NELSON BORN 19 SEPTR 1758.' The plaque is mounted in a square black frame with a suspension ring, the attachment in the shape of a foul anchor and naval crown.
