Portrait plaque

Portrait plaque depicting Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). An ivory plaque carved in relief with a full-length figure of Nelson, in uniform but with no hat, facing three-quarters left, holding a baton. Part of a mast and halliard is shown behind the figure. A drape is placed across the left arm reaching to the feet. The plaque is mounted in a rectangular, black wooden frame to which an ivory scroll is attached, inscribed 'NELSON'.
