Medal celebrating the entente cordiale
Wooden plaque with a round medal on the front and a rectangular plaque on the back and is celebrating the entente cordiale. The medal on the front depicts France armed with the trident, and crowned, driving Neptune's sea chariot (to left). Legend: 'SPLENDOR REI NAVALIS.' (The glory of the Navy.) Exergue: Stern view of antique galley, marked 'GALLIA'. Restruck for the naval review of the British and French fleets in 1905 mounted on a wooden plaque. On plaque: 'PORTSMOUTH AOVT 1905.' On reverse of plaque: 'S . M . EDOVARD VII PASSE EN REVVE LES ESCADRES ANGLAISE ET FRANÇAISE A PORTSMOUTH LE 9 AOVT 1905.'
