Silver trowel presented to Admiral of the Fleet Sir David Beatty, 1st Earl Beatty

A silver trowel presented to Admiral of the Fleet Sir David Beatty, 1st Earl Beatty (1871-1936). It is chased with stylised foliate decoration with an inscription on upper serivce with earl's coronet with a corner view of a building on either side. The trowel has an ivory handle. Inscribed on the blade are the words "THIS SILVER TROWEL WAS PRESENTED TO ADMIRAL OF THE FLEET THE EARL BEATTY BY THE HON TREASURER OF THE OCCASION OF HIS LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE AT THE PRESBYTARIAN WAR MEMORIAL BELFAST ON THE 23 MAY 1923".
