Submarine cable section
A portion of submarine cable. It is cylindrical with brass bands at each end. The core consists of seven copper wires, individually served with hemp, tar, india rubber and pitch?, covered with tarred jute. The outer sheathing consists of eighteen galavanised wires, outer coating is hemp and tar.
