Teapot
Silver teapot engraved with the initials of Vice-Admiral Lord Nelson (1758-1805).
Large oval teapot with a hinged lid with a wooden knop and a scrolled wooden handle. There are engraved bands of scrolling foliage around the body of the teapot, and a slender spout. One side is engraved with 'N' and a viscount's coronet within a wreath, and the other side with a 'B' and duke's coronet in a wreath.
Came through Miss Frances Girdlestone, who was descended from Nelson's sister Susannah, and was purchased at Sotheby's on 30 April 1936 by Sir Percy Malcolm-Stewart for the NMM.
