Submarine cable section
A section of submarine cable that was used in the Atlantic. The core consists of seven copper wires covered with layers of gutta percha and then a cushion of tarred jute. Outer sheathing - eighteen strands, galvanised - 22 guage iron wire, seven iron wires per strand. Metal band at each end and round the middle.
