Silver cup presented to Captain A.B. Thomas RN
A silver plated two handled cup on spreading base. It is chased with foliate scrolls and decoration around the rim and base with simple decorations on the handles. It has two circular cartouches, one is engraved with the words "PRESENTED TO CAPTAIN A.B. THOMAS RN, BY THE OFFICERS OF THE VICTORIAN NAVAL FORCES, 1885". The other cartouche is vacant.the Maker's marks are engraved on the bottom of the cup. One of the handles is corroded towards the bottom while the rest of the handle is tarnished.
