A silver fiddle-pattern fork that belonged to Lord Nelson. The mark of William Eley and Willaim Fearn is engraved on the handle. Two crests are engraved on the handle. The crest at the top of the handle is the SAN JOSEF Crest, created for Lord Nelson after his capture of the Spanish ship 'San Jose' (renamed 'San Josef') at the Battle of Cape St. Vincent in 1797.The crest underneath it is the CHELENGK crest, WHICH WAS added following Lord Nelson's ennoblement in November 1798 after the battle of the Nile as Baron Nelson of the Nile and Burnham Thorpe, when he was granted an augmentation to his arms.
