An electroplated oval platter used by the Peninsular & Oriental Steamship Navigation Company. The platter is badly scratched with a semi-obliterated P&O 'rising sun' crest on the rim. The underside of the dish is not plated. An aluminium plaque is fixed to the rim with two brass pins. Engraved on the plaque are the words "S.S.
