Union Castle Line: salt cellar
A silver plate salt cellar that was part of the first class place setting on Union Castle Line ships. The cellar is circular with fluted sides and a zigzag engraved rim. A fluted blue glass liner sits inside the cellar There is a hole in the base to facilitate the removal of the glass liner. The Union Castle Line company crest is stamped on the side of the cellar. The maker's marks is present on the base of the cellar.
