Silver presentation trowl

A large silver presentation trowl. The blade is heart shaped and engraved on the upper surface. The handle is made of acanthus leaf and ivory. It is set in a fitted leather case lined with white satin and purple plush. Engraved on the trowl are the words "THIS TROWL WAS USED BY JENNET W. TENNYSON D' EYNCOURT TO LAY THE FOUNDATION STONE OF THE NEW WING AT BIRNEY HILL, NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE 26TH SEPTEMBER 1907".
