Removing a sea mine from the captured German submarine UC 5 (1915).
A view from the top of the dry dock wall looking down onto the mine tubes in the forward casing of the captured German mine-laying submarine UC 5 (1915). The grating over mine tubes 1 and 2 are closed with their mines still in place. Mine tube 3 is empty and the top mine in tube 4 is ready for hoisting clear. The grating is open on tubes 5 and 6. The photographer was standing on the dock wall looking towards the starboard side of the submarine between the bow and mine tube number 6.
