On attached cloth label: ' A FRAGMENT OF THE MAINTOPSAIL WHICH CARRIED HMS VICTORY INTO ACTION AT TRAFALGAR CAN BE VERIFIED BY COMPAIRING IT WITH A SHOT HOLE IN THE ORIGINAL SAIL ON BOARD THE VICTORY ALSO PIECE OF ORIGINAL WOOD FROM OAK KNEE ON LOWER GUN DECK AND PIECE OF RELIEVING TACKLE OBTAINED BY W.C. BARNABY WHILST SERVING IN VICTORY IN 1894'.
