Locket containing lock of Lord Nelson's hair

Locket containing a lock of hair belonging to Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). Tied with silver thread and mounted under a domed, oval glass. The gilt mount consists of two entwined laurel branches, 'NELSON' and a coronet above. With a typed RUSI label inscribed: 'Lock of Lord Nelson's hair formerly the property of Lady Bromhead, daughter of Maurice Suckling, Nelson's uncle.'
