Admiralty ship's nail
A brass Admiralty ship's nail, marked on either side with impressed broad arrows, with a slightly flared head and a point tapering in four segments. Recovered from 40 foot under water in Friendly Cove (Yuquot), Nootka Sound in about 1960. Possibly from one of George Vancounver's ships - he anchored there in 1792. It would have been used to secure copper plate to the hull.
