Square pane of glass with roughly engraved inscription in cursive script 'Barham 74. 1811.' This refers to the launch of HMS 'Barham', a 3rd-rate of 74 guns, built by Perry, Wells & Green, and launched 8 July 1811. The vessel was reduced to 50 guns in 1826 and broken up 1839.

This pane was originally part of a window in the mould loft of the Blackwall shipyard, on which a draughtsman had scratched a commemoration of the launch. It is mentioned in 'Chronicles of Blackwall Yard' (1881) by H. Green and R. Wigram as having been rescued by Mr Robert Wigram and kept by the family as a relic when the mould loft was dismantled by the Midland Railway Company. It is mounted in a late-19th-century 'Oxford' picture frame.
