Inner boot

One of a pair of inner boots with drawstrings at the top. The foot is made of untanned animal skin, with a seam along the top of the foot and back of the heel, seams also run across the heel and toe. This has a skin drawstring which runs through slits round the top of the foot. An additional, double thickness, piece of skin is attached to go round the ankle. The top part of the leg is made from cotton ticken with sewn eyelets for an additional drawstring round the top. A paper square is attached marked: '9' or '6'. The item is unprovenanced, but is identical to AAA3991- a pair of inner boots belonging to Captain F.L. McClintock.
