Bronze mortar
Mortar in cast-bronze, with ridges down the sides and one lug. Painted on the base 'MORTAR FROM ARMADA SHIP DUCA DI FLORENZIA TOBERMORY 1905'. It was salvaged from the wreck by Captain William Burns on behalf of the Glasgow Salvage Association. The ship has now been identified with reasonable certainty as 'San Juan de Sicilia' originally from Ragusa.
