Jetsam thrown overboard from 'Endeavour' in an effort to refloat her while she was grounded on the Great Barrier Reef. A piece of wood embedded in coral, heavily varnished, with two copper plaques attached. In a wooden presentation box, lined with red baize with two carrying handles. Inscription on plaques: 'Presented to Her Majesty, His [sic] Royal Highness Princess Anne by Green Island Underwater Observatory, Great Barrier Reef during Royal Tour 1970.', 'This jetsam was thrown overboard by Captain James Cook while grounded on Endeavour Reef 1770. Salvaged by Vince Vlassoff Janurary 1969. Wreck site located by Academy of Natural Science.'
