H.M.S. 'Good Hope' door plate
Door plate from HMS 'Good Hope' 1901. Wooden, rounded at the ends with six screw holes. Scratched on the back 'XXX'II (dockyard marks). The ship was sunk at the battle of Coronel 1 November 1914. They were picked up on the shore in the Falkland Islands by Major T.J. Newnham in 1918, the ship having been cleared of her woodwork at Port Stanley.
