SS 'Ocean' Viscount builder's plate
Builders plate from one of the lifeboats of SS 'Ocean Viscount'. Inscribed: 'LANE LIFEBOAT & DAVIT CORP, BUILT 9-26-42, Lgth 24' Beam 8' Depth 3.5, 403 Cub Ft, 0-34 Persons, B.W.G. 16, C.F.A.T. 66, Insp. by AL.L.MMI, No11279 NEW YORK. N.Y.' The lifeboat was lost overboard in the Atlantic and washed ashore at Maer Low Beach, Bude, Cornwall Feb 5th 1945.
