Bleeding bowls
Two pewter bowls set into a wooden stand from the French ship 'L'Orient'. Label: '(Bleeding Bowls) Recovered by a Greek Diver from the French Admiral Flagship L'Orient sunk by Nelsons Ships at the Battle of the Nile Aug 1st 1798 Originally belonged to the Ships Surgeon Buchanan'. On a shield-shaped plaque: 'Relic of the Battle of the Nile'.
